Mom…you are my sweetest blessing
I don’t remember when I first saw you
But I could feel your presence even before I had eyes to see
Even when the world didn’t knew about me
Even before I had an identity
Even before there was a world I could see
Mom you were the world to me
People say I was crying when I was born
Maybe I was expressing your pain
While you fought thru that pain
Smiling at me again and again
The twinkle in your eyes, every time I was naughty
Betrayed the anger that you showed
And with every step ahead I took
Your face with happiness glowed
Together with Dad you gave me life
And the all important lesson….
How, in this mean world, to survive….
Even when we had nothing
I was richer than most
Your love was the greatest joy
Heaven was when you held me close
The greatest blessings in life,
Rarely are they earned
Mom, you just spent a lifetime
Sharing with me every pearl of wisdom you learned
They say we get busy, unable to always express
How much we love people who are close
That’s why the concept of “Days”
But mom, that’s not how love flows
Your love is deeper than the ocean, its bound no one knows,
Your love is more infinite than the vast sky, forever it goes.
I have your blessings and love, who needs miracles and heroes?
And Mom, I don’t need a Mother’s Day to show my love and gratitude,
In every breath, every smile, every moment it shows
The wrinkles on your face
A story they tell, a story of sacrifice….
Each wrinkle has made you more beautiful
With time I’ve realized
If I could ask God to grant me a wish
I would choose nothing but another lifetime with you
Mom at your feet lies my paradise
My sweetest blessing is YOU!
