An ocean of red is all I see,

What happened to all the greenery?

Looks like the bears have stomped home!

Pushing quite a few bulls to their tomb!

 

When you walk into office at 9, looking dejected and lost

And cheer as the day comes to an end

When you don’t seem to have the willpower to win at any cost

When all paths ahead seem a dead end

 

When you want to buy everything in sight

But the money and courage are gone

When you no longer focus on what’s going right

Every company seems to be doing something wrong

 

When you feverishly cram theory after theory

Put your head down and focus on the “learn”

When the only thought is to save your job

“If I survive, there’s a lifetime to earn”

 

Ever lined up your portfolio stocks

Each one looking messier than the rest

And then still walk out of office, head held high

In a sea full of losers, you still seem to be the best

 

Hiding behind your laptop

Pretending to be busy

Wondering who’ll pull you up next

Man, a career in investing isn’t easy

 

Stories abound of countless investments gone bad

Every person you meet is gloomy and sad

Macro Economics and Geopolitics strike a fear in the mind

Gone has the greed, that made us blind!

 

When even the “safe” investments yield red!

Ever wondered why you got up out of bed?

We are no longer in a world where ten is greater than two

Inverted yield curves have bamboozled your head

And wait, did you factor the negative sign ahead (of the bond yield)

 

Trump wants to buy “Greenland”

While we bleed to death, market holidays are days of ecstasy

 

We are in a period of massive sale

Everything’s damn cheap, it’s the best time to shop,

Why oh why, are you looking so pale

Load up on credit (if you can find it), and shop till you drop

 

You’ve lost all appetite, and he’s just thrown a feast!
